Enterokun Mild helps improve mild diarrhea.

The nutritional supplement Enterokun Mild® for dogs maintains your dog's intestinal health in good condition. This is the ideal supplement for dogs with occasional mild diarrhea, flatulence, poor stool quality, or during periods of dietary changes in small-sized dogs.

How to use Enterokun Mild?

It is the go-to supplement for reducing diarrhea and preventing its occurrence. It can be administered to animals of any age! Thanks to its active probiotic, prebiotic, and anti-inflammatory ingredients, this dietary supplement restores the microbiome and intestinal mucosa, promoting the rapid recovery of your dog's intestinal conditions.

Composition

Ingredients

Fish oil (sardine), fructo-oligosaccharides, flavoring by-product (hydrolyzed pork and chicken liver), butyric acid salt (2.5%).

Nutritional Additives

Vitamins: Vitamin B12 - 250 mg/kg; Trace Elements: Zinc (zinc glycine chelate) - 2,500 mg/kg; Intestinal Flora Stabilizers: Enterococcus faecium - 1.2 × 10^11 CFU/kg.

Analytical Components

Crude protein 6.66%; Crude fiber 0.03%; Crude fat 39.63%; Crude ash 15.85%; Omega-3 fatty acids 10.71%; Omega-6 fatty acids 2.23%

How do its active ingredients work?

Butyric acid

Butyric acid improves epithelial integrity as it is the preferred metabolic fuel for enterocytes. It positively influences cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation (increased villi height and decreased crypt depth), thereby facilitating nutrient absorption. Additionally, butyric acid reduces intestinal inflammation by reducing oxidative DNA damage and inducing apoptosis in cells with DNA damage.

Zinc

It maintains the function and integrity of the intestinal barrier at the level of tight junctions, thereby preventing the entry of antigens, toxins, and pathogenic bacteria that cause inflammation.

They modulate the production of eicosanoids, with eicosanoids resulting from the metabolism of omega-3 fatty acids being less inflammatory than those resulting from omega-6 fatty acids. Additionally, omega-3 fatty acids are precursors to resolvins and protectins, substances that counter-regulate inflammation. They serve as agonists of endogenous anti-inflammatory mechanisms and significantly contribute to inflammation resolution.

Enterococcus faecium

Improves the balance of the intestinal microbiota. Competition for nutrients, adhesion sites, and the production of antimicrobial substances (short-chain fatty acids, defensins, etc.) inhibit the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria, while favoring the growth of beneficial bacteria.

Fructooligosaccharides

Prebiotic component, indicating that it resists digestion and reaches the colon intact, where it serves as a source of energy for beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus spp, Bacteroides spp, and Bifidobacterium spp), thereby stimulating their growth and/or activity. As a result of its fermentation, it decreases the production of toxic substances (ammonia and biogenic amines) and increases the release of short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate, lactate, and butyrate) into the intestinal lumen, reducing the presence of pathogenic bacteria (E. coli and C. perfringens), thanks to the reduction in colonic pH.

Vitamin B12

It performs an important function in many biochemical reactions (including DNA synthesis and the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine), as well as in important enzymatic reactions in the citric acid cycle, where it acts as a cofactor. Hypocobalaminemia typically occurs when specific cobalamin receptors in the ileum are damaged as a result of inflammatory disease. Deficiency is accelerated by reduced cobalamin consumption and ongoing gastrointestinal losses.

To whom and for what purpose?

  • In cases of mild, occasional diarrhea or poor fecal quality, Enterokun Mild helps reduce the use of antibiotics and immunosuppressive agents.
  • During and after antibiotic treatment, this supplement helps prevent possible secondary diarrhea caused by their use.
  • Enterokun Mild improves digestive well-being in cases of flatulence, reducing its intensity.
  • In the face of predictable stressors such as travel, new pets at home, weaning, moving to a new home, etc., Enterokun Mild prevents the onset of possible secondary diarrhea due to these or other stressful situations.
  • Before a dietary change, Enterokun Mild maintains intestinal balance, preventing diarrhea caused by the change in diet.

It is not recommended to use ENTEROKUN MILD in case of:

  • Fish allergy or during periods of exclusion diets.

How is it administered?

Daily recommendation to be added on top of food. This dose can be divided into different servings throughout the day:

Weight Tablespoons* Duration of container
<10 kg 0.5 11 days
10-20 kg 1.0 5 days
20-30 kg 1.5 3.5 days
>30 kg 2.0 2.5 days

*11.8 g per tablespoon. The spoon is included in the package.

This container is suitable for a situation of occasional diarrhea or for a moment of change of diet in small-sized dogs. If you want to address a situation of recurrent or chronic diarrhea, or prevent intestinal imbalance during a diet change in a large-sized dog, we recommend Enterokun Mild in a jar format.

Enterokun Mild for dogs can be administered together with any type of diet (kibble, homemade or commercial cooked, BARF, or dehydrated). Additionally, it can be administered chronically without the need for any rest periods between jars.

How long should I administer it?

  • In cases of occasional diarrhea: Administration is recommended for at least 5 days and should be continued as long as the symptoms persist.
  • As a preventive measure during and after antibiotic treatment: Administer while the antibiotic treatment lasts and continue for at least 7 days after the last dose of antibiotics.
  • To reduce flatulence: For at least 15 days.
  • Before a predictable stressful situation such as travel, new pets at home, weaning, change of home, etc.: 3 days before the stressful situation, during the days of the stressful situation, and for the 3 days following the end of the stressful situation.
  • Before a diet change: 3 days before starting the transition to the new food and for the following 7 days.
