To whom and for what purpose?

  • In occasional stress situations such as noises, changes in environment or routine, car trips, visits from unknown people, veterinary visits, socialization with other animals, etc., Mindkun reduces your cat's nervousness and suffering. Mindkun will help the whole family get through those difficult moments more calmly.
  • In chronic stress situations such as lack of physical space, absence of activity or environmental stimuli, Mindkun promotes a feeling of calm and well-being, improving your furry friend's quality of life.
  • Mindkun is an ideal tool to support behavior modification work with a professional, as it reduces nervousness and increases tolerance to stimuli, making therapeutic exercises more effective and bearable for your cat.
  • In front of elderly animals or in case of disrupted sleep, Mindkun promotes a feeling of calm and well-being, favoring sleep regulation and improving your cat's quality of life.

Use of MINDKUN is not recommended in case of:

  • Animals with hyperglycemia.

Warning! Mindkun can potentiate the effects of benzodiazepines.

How is it administered?

Daily recommendation to be administered preferably between meals to enhance the effect of its active ingredients.

Tablespoons* Duration of the container
0.5 10 days

*8.6 g per tablespoon.
The spoon is included in the container.

If the powder texture bothers your furry friend, you can add a little water to the recommended dose to make a paste and thus facilitate its administration.

In cases of known and predictable stress factors, it is recommended to administer Mindkun 40 minutes before the stressful trigger occurs.

This container is suitable for occasional stress situations. If you want to address chronic stress situations, we recommend Mindkun in jar format.

Mindkun for cats is not sedative nor does it cause drowsiness and can be administered chronically without causing any type of addiction in the animal. However, in chronic treatments, it is recommended to withdraw the supplementation gradually to avoid relapses. Once the dog has recovered, reduce the daily dose by half for 15 days and then administer half the dose every other day for another 15 days.

There is no risk if another animal in the household occasionally ingests the Mindkun supplement.

How long should I administer it?

  • In occasional stress situations such as noises, changes in environment or routine, car trips, visits from unknown people, veterinary visits, socialization with other animals, etc.: Administer daily at least 4 days before the stressful factor and/or maintain while it persists. In cases of high stress levels, it is recommended to double the dose the day before and while the stressful factor remains present.
  • In chronic stress situations such as lack of physical space, absence of activity or environmental stimuli, or in front of elderly animals or in case of disrupted sleep: Administer daily while symptoms persist.
  • Support for working on behavior modification with a professional: Administer daily while behavior modification is being worked on. During the first two weeks, the daily dose can even be doubled. Then, a gradual decrease is recommended to avoid relapses. When the professional indicates, reduce the daily dose by half for 15 days and then administer half the dose every other day for another 15 days.

How do their active ingredients work?

L-Tryptophan

It is the metabolic precursor of serotonin, the neurotransmitter known for inducing a feeling of calm and drowsiness. Studies have shown that low tryptophan levels increase aggression, anger, and depression, while high levels have a therapeutic effect in pathologically aggressive patients and promote a sense of well-being and elevated mood.

Glucose

The transport of tryptophan across the blood-brain barrier depends on the plasma concentrations of tryptophan and other large neutral amino acids (LNAA; tyrosine, phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, and valine), as they compete for the same transport mechanism. A high postprandial insulin level in the blood after a carbohydrate load favors the transport of tryptophan to the brain because it mediates the uptake of LNAA into muscle but not tryptophan, which is largely bound to plasma albumin, increasing the tryptophan/LNAA ratio in the blood and favoring its transport into the brain.

Vitamin B6

It is necessary in the synthesis of serotonin from tryptophan by the enzyme L-amino acid decarboxylase.

Vitamin B3

It suppresses the activity of tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase, which is one of the key enzymes in the conversion of tryptophan to niacin. If tryptophan is converted to niacin, it is no longer available as a precursor of serotonin in the brain and, therefore, supplementation with vitamin B3 may reduce the “loss” of tryptophan due to nicotinic acid synthesis.

Trypsin hydrolyzed bovine casein

It is a bioactive peptide derived from the tryptic hydrolysis of αs1-casein present in cow's milk, which has affinity for GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors, exerting an effect similar to benzodiazepines. It has been shown that α-casozepine improves animals' reactions when interacting with strangers, fear-related signs (including aggression), as well as neurovegetative signs often related to stress and anxiety.
