What does your furry friend get with Mindkun?

The nutritional supplement Mindkun® promotes a sense of calm and well-being in dogs under conditions of stress.

When should it be used?

This is the ideal supplement to use in cases of storms or festivities, changes in environment or routine, car travel, socialization with other animals, or as support for modifying behavior. It is the go-to supplement for reducing nervousness in small dogs. It can be administered to animals of any age!ç

Why should you choose Mindkun for your dog?

Mindkun for dogs is made from natural active ingredients, commonly found in food, which act synergistically. Thanks to its active principles, this dietary supplement promotes a sense of calm and well-being, and reduces stress and anxiety.

Composition

Ingredients

Dextrose, flavoring by-product (hydrolyzed pork and chicken liver), triptic hydrolyzed bovine casein (2.5%).

Nutritional Additives

Vitamins: Vitamin B6 - 350 mg/kg, Niacinamide - 2,350 mg/kg; Amino acids: L-tryptophan - 23,530 mg/kg.

Analytical Components

Crude protein 9.53%; Crude fiber 0.00%; Crude fat 1.23%; Crude ash 2.72%

How do its active ingredients work?

L-Tryptophan

It is the metabolic precursor of serotonin, the neurotransmitter known to induce feelings of calmness and drowsiness. Studies have shown that low levels of tryptophan increase aggression, anger, and depression, while high levels have a therapeutic effect in pathologically aggressive patients and promote a sense of well-being and elevated mood.

Glucose

The transport of tryptophan across the blood-brain barrier depends on the plasma concentrations of tryptophan and other large neutral amino acids (LNAA; tyrosine, phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, and valine), as these compete for the same transport mechanism. A high postprandial level of insulin in the blood after a carbohydrate load favors the transport of tryptophan to the brain because it mediates the uptake of LNAA in the muscle but not of tryptophan, which is largely bound to plasma albumin, increasing the tryptophan/LNAA ratio in the blood and favoring the transport of the former into the brain.

Vitamin B6

It is necessary in the synthesis of serotonin from tryptophan by the enzyme L-amino acid decarboxylase.

Vitamin B3

It suppresses the activity of tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase, which is one of the key enzymes in the conversion of tryptophan to niacin. If tryptophan is converted to niacin, it becomes unavailable as a precursor for serotonin in the brain. Therefore, supplementation with vitamin B3 can reduce the "loss" of tryptophan due to the synthesis of nicotinic acid.

Triptic hydrolysate of bovine casein

It is a bioactive peptide derived from the trypsin hydrolysis of αs1-casein present in cow's milk, which has an affinity for GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors, exerting a similar effect to benzodiazepines. It has been shown that α-casozepine improves animal reactions when interacting with strangers, signs related to fear (including aggression), as well as neurovegetative signs, often associated with stress and anxiety.

To whom and for what purpose?

  • In situations of acute stress such as loud noises, changes in environment or routine, car rides, visits from unfamiliar people, vet appointments, socialization with other animals, etc., Mindkun reduces your dog's nervousness and distress. Mindkun will help the whole family get through those difficult moments more calmly.
  • In cases of chronic stress such as lack of physical space, absence of activity or environmental stimuli, Mindkun promotes a sense of calm and well-being, improving the quality of life for your furry friend.
  • Mindkun is an ideal tool to support behavior modification work with a professional, as it reduces nervousness and increases tolerance to stimuli, making therapeutic exercises more effective and manageable for your dog.
  • When dealing with elderly animals or in cases of disrupted sleep, Mindkun promotes a sense of calm and well-being, helping to regulate sleep and improve your dog's quality of life.

MINDKUN is not recommended for use in:

  • Animals with hyperglycemia.

Caution! Mindkun may potentiate the effects of benzodiazepines.

How is it administered?

Daily recommendation to be administered, preferably between meals to enhance the effect of its active ingredients.

Weight Tablespoons* Duration of the package
<10 kg 0.5 10 days
10-20 kg 1.0 5 days
20-30 kg 1.5 3 days
>30 kg 2.0 2.5 days

*8.5 g per tablespoon.
The spoon is included in the package.

If the powder texture bothers your furry friend, you can add a little water to the recommended dose to achieve a paste and thus facilitate its administration.

In cases of known and predictable stress factors, it is recommended to administer Mindkun 40 minutes before the stressful trigger occurs.

This package is suitable for small-sized dogs or mild and occasional stress situations in large-sized dogs. If your dog is large and you want to address a strong or chronic specific stress situation, we recommend Mindkun in a jar format.

Mindkun for dogs is not sedative nor does it cause drowsiness and can be administered chronically without causing any type of addiction in the animal. However, in cases of chronic treatments, it is recommended to withdraw the supplementation gradually to avoid relapses. Once the dog has recovered, reduce the daily dose by half for 15 days, and then administer the half dose every other day for another 15 days.

How long should I administer it?

  • In situations of punctual stress such as noise, changes in environment or routine, car trips, visits from unknown people, visits to the veterinarian, socialization with other animals, etc.: Administer daily at least 4 days before the stressful factor and/or maintain while it persists. In cases of a high level of stress, it is recommended to double the dose the day before and while the stressful factor is present.
  • In situations of chronic stress such as lack of physical space, absence of activity or environmental stimuli, or in front of elderly animals or in case of deregulated sleep: Administer daily while the symptoms persist.
  • Support for working on behavior modification with a professional: Administer daily while working on behavior modification. During the first two weeks, the daily dose can even be doubled. Then, it is recommended to gradually decrease to avoid relapses. When the professional indicates it, reduce the daily dose by half for 15 days, and then administer the half dose every other day for another 15 days.
