To whom and for what purpose?
- When preparing homemade recipes, we cannot have the same control over raw materials nor follow a completely balanced diet, considering that a dog needs around 37 nutrients for proper health. Certain vitamins, some minerals, and essential fatty acids may need to be added to homemade diets to complete the nutritional balance in the long term, ensuring no nutritional deficiencies occur and thus keeping our dog in good health.
- Additionally, Homemadekun supports health and aids recovery in cases of nutritional deficits or increased needs (lactating or pregnant females, growing animals, malnutrition, certain diseases, etc.).
Use of HOMEMADEKUN is not recommended in case of:
- Patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. In these cases, it is recommended to seek a veterinarian's opinion before using the product.
How is it administered?
Daily recommendation to be continuously mixed with homemade food (cooked, BARF, etc.). To preserve its active ingredients and avoid degradation, it is very important not to heat or freeze the product. Always mix it just before offering the food to your dog. This dose can be divided into different servings throughout the day:
| Weight | Spoons* | Container duration |
|---|---|---|
| <10 kg | 1 | 1 month |
| 10-20 kg | 1.5 | 15 days |
| 20-30 kg | 2.5 | 10 days |
| >30 kg | 3 | 8 days |
*10.9 g per spoon. The spoon is included in the container.
Homemadekun for dogs can be administered chronically without the need for any rest period between containers.

How do their active ingredients work?
Vitamin A
It is necessary for proper vision, particularly adaptation to darkness. It also plays a role in the synthesis of reproductive hormones and protein synthesis, as well as in regulating the growth of skin cells and sebum production.
Vitamin D3
It plays a fundamental role in regulating calcium and phosphorus metabolism, increasing the intestinal absorption of both minerals, optimizing calcium incorporation into bone, and reducing calcium and phosphorus loss through urine.
Vitamin E
Inflammation generates a large amount of free radicals, which in turn accelerate the inflammatory process. Vitamin E is one of the most effective antioxidants to protect the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids that make up cell membranes. It prevents lipid oxidation by eliminating peroxyl radicals before they can react with fatty acids or proteins of adjacent cell membranes.
Vitamin C
It is the most potent reducing agent available to cells. Vitamin C regenerates the enzyme glutathione, neutralizes free radicals both intra- and extracellularly, and protects against free radical-mediated protein inactivation associated with oxidative neutrophil rupture.
Vitamin B1
It is involved in many complex biochemical reactions that help generate energy for the cell. It is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system, where it aids in the transmission of nerve impulses.
Vitamin B2
Contributes to the health of skin and hair. Its deficiency can cause changes in the skin around the eyes and abdomen.
Vitamin B3
It suppresses the activity of tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase, which is one of the key enzymes in the conversion of tryptophan to niacin. If tryptophan is converted to niacin, it is no longer available as a precursor of serotonin in the brain and, therefore, supplementation with vitamin B3 may reduce the “loss” of tryptophan due to nicotinic acid synthesis.
Vitamin B5
It is present throughout the body in the form of coenzyme A. Coenzyme A plays a fundamental role in the formation of a series of essential fatty acids and sterols. As such, it is important in the formation of lipids that make up the laminar components of the skin barrier.
Vitamin B6
It is necessary in the synthesis of serotonin from tryptophan by the enzyme L-amino acid decarboxylase.
Biotin
It acts as a cofactor for carboxylase synthase enzymes. This group of enzymes catalyzes the biosynthesis of fatty acids, making this vitamin crucial in maintaining the health of the dermal barrier.
Vitamin B9
Participates in the development of nervous system tissues.
Vitamin B12
It plays an important role in many biochemical reactions (including DNA synthesis and methionine synthesis from homocysteine), as well as in important enzymatic reactions in the citric acid cycle, where it acts as a cofactor. Hypocobalaminemia typically occurs when specific cobalamin receptors in the ileum are damaged as a consequence of inflammatory disease. Deficiency is accelerated by reduced cobalamin intake and ongoing gastrointestinal losses.
Choline
It also plays a fundamental role in protecting the skin against dehydration and is essential for proper liver function.
Calcium
More than 90% of the calcium found in the body is retained in the bones and teeth where, together with phosphorus, it is responsible for making these structures rigid. Calcium also plays a role in the transfer of information between cells and in the transmission of nerve impulses.
Phosphorus
A large proportion (more than 80%) of the phosphorus found in the body is retained in the bones and teeth where, together with calcium, it is responsible for making these structures rigid. It is a component of cell membranes and is required for energy production. Phosphorus is also a structural component of DNA and RNA, the molecules that carry the genetic code of cells.
Potassium
It is essential for the proper functioning of cells, and together with sodium, this mineral is responsible for maintaining acid-base balance. Potassium is also responsible for nerve impulse transmission and plays an important role in energy metabolism.
Sodium
Together with potassium, it maintains acid-base balance and is also responsible for maintaining pressure between the inside and outside of cells. It also plays an important role in cellular energy metabolism and participates in the generation and transmission of nerve impulses. Sodium is also important for regulating water balance, the sensation of thirst, and urine concentration.
Chlorine
It is important for maintaining the concentration of extracellular fluid and plays an important role in acid-base balance.
Magnesium
It plays an important role in energy metabolism, DNA and RNA metabolism, protein synthesis, and the function of the cell membrane of nerve and muscle cells. Magnesium is also, like calcium and phosphorus, an important component of bones and teeth.
Iodine
It is an essential component of thyroid hormones that are important for growth, development, and regulation of metabolic rate.
Selenium
It acts as a cofactor of glutathione peroxidase, an antioxidant enzyme that protects tissues against oxidative stress by catalyzing the reduction of hydrogen peroxides and organic hydroperoxides and by regenerating vitamin E.
Iron
It is a vital component of hemoglobin, the molecule that transports oxygen throughout the body in red blood cells, and of myoglobin, which does the same job in muscles. Iron also has many enzymatic functions, especially regarding cellular respiration.
Zinc
Maintains the function and integrity of the intestinal barrier at the level of tight junctions, thus preventing the entry of antigens, toxins, and pathogenic bacteria that cause inflammation.
Manganese
It plays an active role in the proper functioning of mitochondria, and is important for the formation of bone and joint cartilage and neurological function. Manganese also plays a structural role in many enzymes.
Copper
It facilitates the intestinal absorption of iron and its incorporation into hemoglobin. It is an active element in many enzymes. Copper plays an important role in reducing cellular damage caused by free radicals. It also participates in collagen synthesis in tendons and myelin within the nervous system. Copper also participates in the synthesis of melanin, which is a pigment of the hair.
