How do their active ingredients work?

Pumpkin

It is a source of fiber, carotenes, minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and manganese) and vitamins (A, C, E, K, and folic acid). A balanced diet should contain fibers, as they help the proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. In this regard, pumpkin is a rich source of soluble fiber, which helps delay gastric emptying and slows down intestinal transit time. This will be beneficial both in episodes of diarrhea and constipation. In the first case, by slowing down intestinal transit time, soluble fiber allows the body more time to absorb water from the digesta at the colon level, thus forming firmer stools. In the second case, the problem is that there is too much water reabsorption due to the slow passage of stools through the colon. In these cases, soluble fiber prevents part of this water from being reabsorbed by the colon, thus promoting stool evacuation.

Carrot

It is a source of fiber, carotenes, vitamins (A, C, and K) and minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium). Besides the properties that soluble fiber has in regulating gastrointestinal transit (see pumpkin), carrots contain some oligosaccharides that closely resemble certain receptors found on the colon walls. Thus, intestinal pathogenic bacteria, instead of adhering to the intestinal wall (where they multiply, produce toxins, and create strong inflammation leading to diarrhea), adhere to these oligosaccharides and can be expelled from the body.

Fructooligosaccharides

Prebiotic component, which means it resists digestion and reaches the colon intact where it serves as an energy source for beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus spp, Bacteroides spp, and Bifidobacterium spp), thus stimulating their growth and/or activity. As a result of its fermentation, the production of toxic substances (ammonia and biogenic amines) decreases and the release of short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate, lactate, and butyrate) into the intestinal lumen increases, reducing the presence of pathogenic bacteria (E. coli and C. perfringens), thanks to the reduction of colonic pH.

Ginger

It stimulates the secretion of gastric juices and facilitates intestinal transit, thus preventing stomach discomfort. It is also capable of preventing and treating dizziness and nausea, thereby avoiding vomiting. Additionally, it has been described to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, acting together as a stomach protector, preventing gastritis and the appearance of gastric ulcers.

How long does it take to take effect?

Digestive changes may begin to be noticed from the third day of administration, with an improvement in stool consistency observed in cases of constipation or mild diarrhea. For improvements in the anal glands and vomiting, continuous use of approximately 10 days is recommended.
