Composition

Ingredients

Mango butter, murumuru and shea butter, beeswax, jojoba oil, castor oil and babassu, gotu kola and calendula.

How is it administered?

It can be applied on paw pads, nose leather/truffle, or any skin area that needs high nutrition. Apply a small amount of the balm to the area to be treated, massaging gently until absorbed. It can be applied 1 to 2 times a day, as needed.

Dermakun balm for dogs and cats can be used alongside any type of treatment. Also, it can be administered chronically without the need for any rest period.

How do their active ingredients work?

Mango butter

With emollient properties (prevents water loss), softening and nourishing, it helps in wound healing and skin regeneration. Its components include oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids and phytosterols that improve the skin’s lipid barrier and microcirculation and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Murumuru butter

It has moisturizing, emollient, nourishing, anti-inflammatory, and bactericidal properties. Thanks to its high content of oleic and linoleic acids, it retains moisture and melts easily upon contact with the skin, leaving no greasy film or residue (easy absorption).

Shea butter

It regenerates, hydrates, and deeply nourishes the skin, restoring its elasticity. It softens and soothes the skin thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It protects against solar radiation due to the presence of karitene, vitamin A, and terpenic alcohols that absorb UV rays and enhance the activity of sunscreens (ideal for use on the nose or snout). High content of several fatty acids (oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic) and plant sterols.

Beeswax

It has emollient properties (prevents water loss), calming and softening effects. It helps the skin retain moisture, reduces inflammation, is softening, and has antioxidant properties. It is a biologically active ingredient with antibacterial properties and vitamin A, which is why it has been used since ancient times as an antiseptic (prevents the development of microorganisms) and for wound healing.

Jojoba oil

It has emollient properties (prevents water loss), calming and softening effects. It helps the skin retain moisture, reduces inflammation, is softening, and has antioxidant properties. It is a biologically active ingredient with antibacterial properties and vitamin A, which is why it has been used since ancient times as an antiseptic (prevents the development of microorganisms) and for wound healing.

Castor oil

It is a natural emollient (prevents water loss) that penetrates the skin and helps it produce collagen and elastin. Thanks to its viscous texture, it is an excellent moisturizer (absorbs and retains moisture). It creates great synergy with jojoba oil and is highly compatible with babassu oil as both create a very resistant hydration and repair film on the skin.

Babassu oil

It is considered a super-emollient, very beneficial for all types of dermatitis and skin conditions. It has a great capacity to preserve elasticity and acts as a soothing agent to relieve itching and irritation from eczema and psoriasis in cases of sensitive, reactive skin or unknown environmental allergies with reactions to external pathogens. Great synergy with jojoba and castor oils.

Gotu kola

Promotes, protects, and accelerates collagen production. It has a powerful healing effect, speeds up wound healing, and stimulates the repair of mucous membranes (nose/truffle). It is astringent thanks to the tannins it contains, antipruritic, and antiseptic. Highly recommended for the topical treatment of ulcers, itching, eczema, intertrigo, psoriasis, dermatitis, wounds, burns, and keloid scars.

Calendula

It is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial. Especially indicated in cases of dermatitis, eczema, and irritations. Great synergy with gotu kola, emollient, re-epithelializing, and healing.
