Foods that dogs should not eat

Forbidden foods

We all love to offer our furry friends foods as a reward, to give them some treat different from kibble and to cook homemade recipes just to see them happy. But what things should we avoid offering them to prevent any discomfort? 🤒

Well, first of all, you have to think that each animal is totally different and it is highly recommended to go to a veterinarian in order to carry out the corresponding tests to be informed in case of any intolerance or deficiency, whether nutritional, of a specific vitamin, etc.

As a general rule, there are various foods that must be removed from any dog's diet such as salt, spicy foods, and high-fat diets. Now, to start, the following are considered TOXIC foods: chocolate, garlic and onion, coffee, and even tea. And taking advantage of having listed different drinks, we could emphasize alcoholic beverages or even alcohol in different cleaning products or colognes, causing alcohol poisoning in the animal.

Also remember that bread is not an ideal food for dogs since it is carbohydrates and not animal protein; it can be given occasionally but never provide raw bread dough.

Regarding bones from different foods, cooked bones and those belonging to fruits should be removed from the furry one's diet as they are dangerous for their teeth and could easily cause tracheal obstruction.

Emphasizing even more on fruits, grapes, cherries, and different nuts such as raisins or macadamia nuts should also not be ingested.
